Welcome to the Manchester Camerata Blog

Manchester Camerata is one of the UK's leading Chamber Orchestras with concert series at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and at the Royal Northern College of Music - where we have a residency - but also regularly in Ulverston, Colne, Crewe and Stafford, and across the North West of England and Cumbria. We also have a vibrant education project with a special relationship with schools in Chester. Visit our main website at www.manchestercamerata.co.uk to read more about the orchestra and its plans and projects, for podcasts and vodcasts and to read news from the classical music world.

Leader of the Gang!

We have a new Leader!!  Rising star, the Venezuelan/Italian violinist Giovanni Guzzo, has signed up to join Manchester Camerata as Leader from the 2010/11 Season!  Read our News Page about his appointment.  He's no stranger to the orchestra, or the Music Director designate Gábor Takács-Nagy, who takes over from Douglas Boyd next year. You may have spotted both working with the Verbier Chamber Orchestra this Summer.  You can see him next at the Stafford Gatehouse on September 29, and at the RNCM in Manchester on October 23. See details of those concerts.
